5 eco-designed pieces of furniture you'll come across at Morning

The Morning team has been creating workspaces since 2014. Within our business, furniture has always held pride of place. Initially, furniture served a twofold purpose: to meet the needs of the working world and to contribute to the aesthetics of our spaces. The challenges of our times have imposed a third purpose on it: having a minimal environmental impact.
The levers of eco-design are varied: sourcing of materials, optimising the ratio of quantity of material to durability of the furniture, the carbon footprint of manufacturing… The team introduces 5 eco-designed pieces of furniture you'll come across in Morning spaces!

#1: The desk eco-designed by Morning

The desk is the spearhead of our eco-designed furniture range. After a first version created by our furniture designers and cabinetmakers in 2020, the Morning teams carried out a life-cycle analysis of the desk. Following extensive research, the teams dedicated to eco-design optimised the model and released new versions of the desk.
The latest version has a carbon footprint 24% lower than that of its predecessor. It is also 20% lighter thanks to the optimised amount of steel used, notably halved on the rack holding the power strip. This steel is, moreover, 100% French.
The parts of the eco-designed desk can be dismantled endlessly. The components are independently repairable and reusable. The desk is manufactured and assembled in Brittany and the materials are sourced in Europe (France and Poland).

#2: Morning's shared table

Like the desk, the shared table is part of the furniture range eco-designed by the Morning designers and cabinetmakers. Available in 2 formats (200 x 100 cm or 300 x 100 cm), this table can seat 8 people or more. It suits several uses (work, meetings, lunch…). The built-in power strip makes it a first-rate piece of furniture for a shared workspace.
Its chipboard top is made from 90% recycled wood offcuts and is veneered in solid oak. The table's base, for its part, is made entirely of solid oak. The oak is sourced from sustainably managed French forests.
The shared table can be dismantled and reassembled endlessly, the components being fully separable. They can be repaired and reused independently. As for its manufacture, the shared table is made and assembled in Brittany.

#3: The paddle chair by Cruso

Cruso is one of the main furniture suppliers of Morning spaces. The Belgian furniture maker aims to reduce its carbon footprint through various levers: designing durable products made of recycled or recyclable materials, European manufacturing, reduced packaging, land transport… Cruso offers “warm and playful” furniture that is more environmentally friendly, created by internationally renowned designers.
The paddle chair takes its inspiration from the soft shapes of paddle blades. Its design, available in 7 colours, is clean and blends perfectly into a working environment. It is made in Italy from solid oak and plywood. The oak comes from sustainably managed forests for better preservation of ecosystems.

#4: The stool by Normann Copenhagen

Normann Copenhagen is a Danish manufacturer specialising in designer furniture and interior fittings. The brand is committed to making durable products by choosing more conscientious materials, producing locally in the regions where it operates (in Europe and Asia-Pacific) and opting for responsible packaging.
The bar stool by Normann Copenhagen comes in several colours and shapes. Its simple design contrasts with the grainy look of the material. Made in Italy, the stool is composed of small pieces of 100% recycled household and industrial plastic. The material is recycled, and recyclable. Heating these plastic fragments to a melting point of 120°C makes it possible to reuse them again and again, without altering their properties.

#5: The 904 Bergerie Armchair - La Chaiserie Landaise

La Chaiserie Landaise creates chairs and armchairs solely from natural materials. The wood used for manufacturing is sourced from sustainably managed French forests. For every tree felled, another is replanted.
The straw for the seats, meanwhile, comes from the Lot. It is cut and dried by traditional methods. The manufacturer favours suppliers from Aquitaine to limit the carbon footprint of transport.  Each chair is made by hand, a guarantee of the quality and durability of every piece. The chairs are 100% recyclable, and production waste is repurposed as firewood and for livestock farming!
The 904 Bergerie Armchair is, like the manufacturer's other creations, made locally in the Landes. Its solid oak base, its straw seat and its clean design make it a first-rate piece for our workspaces.
