In 2020, the Too Good To Go team announced 1.6 million active users of its app, all connected with food-trade professionals offering their unsold stock at reduced prices.
Over the years, to support its growth, the team had to recruit a great many employees. In 4 years, the company went from 3 to 80 employees.
This impressive growth is being followed very closely by Morning, which has supported Too Good To Go for several years with its workspace solutions. Here is a look back at this special collaboration with Sarah Chouraqui, Managing Director of Too Good To Go France.
How did you first come across Morning?
"Our story goes back a while. The first conversations date back to October 2018. At the time, we needed to find a first office after our first two years in business. No fewer than 30 people were already working at Too Good To Go. We made our home in the Morning, République space, where we were only able to stay for six months. We had to move quickly because the team very soon grew to 45 people.
Unable to find the ideal space at République, we settled at Morning, Richelieu (a space now closed), which had the room to accommodate us all. And at the end of 2019, the team grew again. To support the growth of our business, there were more than 70 of us! We then decided it was time to have a place of our own, big enough to stay in for a good while."

What did Morning bring you?
"We could not have carried out a project like this without the Morning team. There was a genuine partnership from the outset, during which we shared our needs. We needed a large floor area, with a substantial number of workstations. At that level of requirements, we were in the realm of conventional office real estate with its share of constraints. On this scale, you would normally take out a 3-6-9 lease with a level of commitment and financial constraints that we could not afford.
And then of course there was the fit-out. It was a constant back-and-forth between Morning's proposals on one side and our feedback on the other. This regular communication made it possible to steer the project and achieve a highly professional result.
There was that moment when we opened the door, when the whole team discovered its new office with a real wow effect. We were proud to work in this new place. But beyond the beauty of the space and its décor, we should also mention the way it was done. We are talking about nearly 1,600 m² that were fitted out in 6 weeks. Honestly, we did not think work like that could be done in so little time.

How is your workspace organised?
"It is a whole, standalone building, arranged over three levels. First, you come in through the ground floor, our shared living space! That is where you will find the kitchen, the lounge, the sofas, the light well and all the meeting rooms. You will also find a few phone booths where you can shut yourself away. The first floor is taken up by a large workspace and further phone booths. The sales functions are brought together on the second floor, which also enjoys a second terrace.
We are lucky to enjoy other special amenities: there is a bike park and a gym. Morning suggested we install equipment that had been at Morning, Richelieu. That allowed us to contribute to this circular economy, and the same goes for the furniture. Together with Morning, we were keen to see how we could reuse furniture without having to buy new things."

What are the Morning perks?
"We really have a strong partnership with Morning, with a dedicated person who is there to make our lives easier. And it is true that, when you are a growing company, you really want to focus on our fight against food waste and not on sorting out little niggles - or at least, if you can avoid them, honestly that is a real plus."
