A series of talks on the climate
From 7 to 13 February, Morning Coworking held its very first Climate Week. A range of events took place across the Morning spaces, tackling all sorts of themes: food, energy, investment, urban planning, waste, and more. Alongside the talks, a host of players got involved to lay on a variety of activities: awareness workshops, speed meetings, films, clothing collections. Here is a look back at a few standout moments.

Climate Week launch evening (Morning Coworking Amsterdam, 7 February)
Climate week kicked off on 7 February at our space on the rue d'Amsterdam. After the various figures behind the week were introduced, Laure Modesti Jubin and Cyril Bruyelle set out the climate stakes we face today. The former, Laure, is the founder of The Society Company, the consultancy advising companies on societal engagement, and an ambassador for the Al Gore foundation. The latter, Cyril, is the founder of a humanist association called 20 Questions to the World, which puts the same twenty questions on religion, happiness and philosophy to hundreds of people around the world. The two speakers thus discussed the climate question, each bringing their own expertise to move the debate forward.

“Jumbo Wild: who will save the mountain?” (Morning Coworking République, 8 February)
On 8 February, the magazine Les Others invited us to discover the film Jumbo Wild at Morning Coworking République. Set against superb backcountry skiing and snowboarding footage, Jumbo Wild documents every aspect of a problem that divides the United States but resonates the world over: is the battle to protect nature still winnable when government interests keep gaining ever more ground in the wilderness? The screening was followed by a discussion with Mathieu J. Ros, journalist, editor-in-chief of the magazines Ski Magazine and Snow Surf, skier and active member of the Protect Our Winters France association, a movement that uses its members' social influence to inspire and mobilise the outdoor sports community in the fight against climate change.

“How to cut down your everyday waste?” (Morning Coworking Marcadet, 11 February)
The Surfrider Foundation association has been working since 1990 to protect the oceans through lobbying, awareness-raising and local action. Diane Beaumenay and Agathe Clerc – members of the association – revisited the everyday actions to take to get involved in waste management. The event, held at Morning Coworking Marcadet, also brought together Lemon Tri and Zéro Waste to take the floor. The talk was followed by a DIY workshop making your own shampoo and toothpaste, along with drinks for an open discussion.

“A new generation of entrepreneurs” (Morning Coworking République, 12 February)
For nearly 10 years, the INCO fund has drawn on its international network and local teams to support green and social start-ups. Every player in this social and solidarity economy was invited to hear Gwenolla Le Taillandier (the group's Investment Director), who shared her convictions and her advice. Her talk was followed by a speed meeting session among all the participants.

“Climate and territory on the scale of a workspace” (Morning OS Bagnolet, 12 February)
On 12 February, the OuiShare collective – resident at the Morning OS in Bagnolet – brought together associations, start-ups and entrepreneurs. The challenge set that day? To build innovative solutions and frame the environmental challenge in a fun, convivial way. Among the questions raised that day: what can we put in place to make our workspaces model settings for a decarbonised society? How do we get to our workspace? How much energy do we spend there?

“How to successfully steer your company towards a sustainable future?” (Morning Coworking République, 13 February)
Climate week drew to a close with a talk on social and solidarity enterprises. Too Good To Go, Solaal, BioCycle and Les Alchimistes each spoke about their respective initiatives against food waste. Dorothée Briaumont (SOLAAL) told how her association makes it easier for farmers to donate fresh produce to those most in need. Alex Guilluy (Alchimistes), for his part, revisited the benefits of composting in the city. The evening closed with talks from Clément Alteresco (Morning Coworking) and Antoine Lannuzel (WeDemain).
