We no longer work the way we used to. And tomorrow?
A closer look at working methods
We will work differently again, and working methods will never stop evolving. Every year, a new technology, a new law, comes along to change the game. This year, Covid (and its millions of newly remote, locked-down workers) wins the role of the new entrant, hands down. On this hugely shifting terrain, Morning Coworking has always kept to the front line to spark fresh ideas. And today, I am very proud to announce our new ambitions to support the world of work and its practices.
First of all, I would like to point out that, in this far-from-easy period, we took a battering, like everyone else. Nexity, our solid partner, has also enabled us to face the difficulties with greater peace of mind. Even though the trend is upward, only 20% of our coworkers were back in our spaces at the end of May. Like everyone else, we considered scenarios that were more or less cheery; like everyone else, we are cutting our costs and keeping our heads down.
But keeping your head down is rarely the way to open up new horizons. Since Morning began, we test, we learn, we come a cropper, we try again, we find... In 2014, our first space opened in Neuilly, with whatever means were to hand. The Ikea furniture assembled over the weekend, the fibre installed overnight. And then over the years, we grew, we learned. Gradually, making do gave way to proven expertise.
Workspaces that tear down the partitions between coworkers
Down with the walls!
Today, we manage around twenty spaces that host more than 650 companies. Our spaces have become a brilliant observatory of working methods and how they are used. Gradually, we have brought in every skill (architecture, networks, furniture, tech, etc.) to meet our members' needs, in real time. To match their needs, our solutions. Our latest arrival is a web app for booking desks to manage flex office, developed in 1 month and made available to all our members, free of charge.
In 2020, we decided to take a step forward in order to step back, to answer the fateful question: “Why do we exist?”. And the answer is terribly simple, on the face of it. Far beyond coworking, we exist to enable everyone to have a good day at work. It sounds simple, but it is hugely ambitious, because everyone has their own way of imagining “their” good day at work.
For me, for example, a good day at work can be summed up in 1 sentence: “I had a good coffee, with someone I didn't know and who taught me a few things.” For others, that good day comes from hitting on a great idea, delivering a project with a positive impact, or just an hour of sport... In short, the possibilities are endless. So why choose one specific angle?
To carry this good day at work forward, we needed to change our name. That is why, from today, Morning Coworking becomes simply Morning. Because we don't just do coworking.

To take this step, we are going to embrace our status as experts, while staying true to ourselves: spontaneous, curious, talkative, effective, likeable. Given the challenges of the times, our impact - social and environmental - will from now on be in the sights of everything we do. Beyond the change of name, we are also going to tidy our room and organise our activities around 3 areas of expertise:
- coworking, which remains at the heart of what we do. Always attentive to our members, we will continue to support them, to invent. What is more, we have just launched a new “remote work package” offer to meet current demand.
- the fit-out of spaces for companies that want a change of scene. Drawing on the experience gained within our own spaces, the team is offering its services on the outside with a “HQ” offer. Too Good To Go (a former Morning member) took advantage of this expertise to find and fit out its new space. And of course, everything was done in-house and in record time!
- events for all the companies that want to treat themselves to some inspiring breaks. It would be a shame not to make the most of our amazing venues. Beyond organising seminars, we dream up inspiring workshops by involving our own members, invited to share their experiences and their stories.
Who knows what we will develop tomorrow? Honestly, I have no idea. These 3 building blocks are certainly not a closed list. The explosion of remote work in the wake of COVID is set to spring plenty of surprises on the organisation of workspaces.
The stakes are fantastic for today and tomorrow. That is, in fact, the idea behind our new tagline: "Tomorrow? We're working on it." I rather like its double meaning, the invitation into our spaces and all that remains to be invented, tomorrow.
