Buildings account for 30% of greenhouse gas emissions in France. To meet the targets of the Paris Agreement, the sector must cut its emissions by 30% by 2030. It is the entire building industry that must be rethought, and all of its players who must transform themselves, as quickly as possible.
Morning has taken up the cause alongside Standard Deviation and Nexity by launching its project Accelerator on 4 October.
As a major player in office design, Morning and its partners are fully committed and accountable. Ultimately, the sector is expected to reach carbon neutrality by 2050.
The ambition of the Morning Accelerator is to unearth promising solutions to reach this goal. The Accelerator will support projects linked to 5 specific sectors of activity, guiding them and helping to ensure their sound development. There will be 10 accelerated projects, selected through two selection committees.

To drive the ecological transition of the building sector
Each year, the Morning Accelerator identifies and supports 10 companies whose solutions address a climate, environmental and social challenge. The solutions must be able to be tested and deployed on a construction site.
Hats off to going low-carbon
The projects supported must fall within at least one of the 5 defined themes, namely:
☞ New materials: Companies that make disruptive construction materials, or ones little used until now in construction and fit-out.
☞ Reuse and reconditioning: Projects that champion the values of reclaiming and reusing construction materials that already exist and/or have been used before.
☞ Greening and biodiversity: Solutions that aim to reinvigorate or redevelop a space by adding greenery. And greening, of course, means leaving room for biodiversity!
☞ Energy performance and retrofit: Companies that make buildings less energy-hungry by insulating them better.
☞ New construction methods: Projects that bring a fresh eye and innovative techniques to secure the sector’s future.
The ambitious solutions selected from these 5 themes will be supported over 6 to 9 months, at a price of €2,500 all-inclusive.
A comprehensive support programme,
To promote responsible solutions for fit-out and construction
The Morning Accelerator is aimed at companies wishing to test a solution mature enough to be integrated on a construction site. The Accelerator programme will let them activate three levers to raise their visibility, test their solution and roll out a structured impact strategy.
Real-world testing on Morning construction sites
Morning’s construction sites are the ideal playground for testing new ideas: new materials, energy-optimisation tools, waste treatment, and so on. To incorporate their solution into a site, the selected companies can order up to €25,000 of materials and supplies via Morning or Nexity, excluding SaaS software. New construction methods and other structural-works solutions are not suited to Morning sites. They can be tested on Nexity operations instead!
A mentored impact strategy
Project leaders benefit from a network of mentors, experts and partners to interrogate and optimise the impact of their solutions. A platform provides the resources needed to build up skills: 2 foundational modules lasting 2h15, essential for accessing the 8 hours of personalised coaching. A platform also lets candidates connect with mentors, often CSR professionals.
Help with visibility
Everything is put in place to present the project demos to the right audiences: clients, prospects, media and target public.
For each solution, the partners Morning, Nexity and Standard Deviation optimise the chances of finding commercial partners and scaling up the project. To do so, 3 levers are activated: help with communicating about the project, managing press relations, sharing the project with Morning’s partner network, and organising 3 “demo” evenings a year, at which the solutions are showcased.
Alongside these demos, the solutions can also be tested in real-world conditions on 3 Morning construction sites over the course of the year.
Two selection committees,
In November 2022 and May 2023
Each year, the candidate companies have two opportunities to be selected. The criteria for selecting the 10 solutions are clearly defined by Morning, Nexity and Standard Deviation.
One committee in November, one committee in May
Once the Accelerator has launched, companies have 6 months to apply. They can submit their application at any time. The selection committee will meet twice, in November 2022 and May 2023, to choose the 10 solutions it deems the most promising for helping the building sector go green.
A test construction site will open between the two committees, from January to March. The shortlisted project leaders will then be able to test their solution in real-world conditions.
Clearly defined participation terms
The programme is aimed at French-speaking and English-speaking companies alike. Each team must be made up of one to 5 people, depending on the structure and the needs of the project. Interested parties must first test their eligibility for the programme by answering a 9-question quick form. If the solution presented could match the programme’s selection criteria, an application pack is sent within 10 days at most.
The acceleration programme runs for 6 to 9 months for each project. Applying is free of charge, but a contribution of €2,500 will be asked of the companies selected by the programme.
1 call for projects, 10 solutions selected
Each committee will choose 5 solutions at the end of the calls for projects. The deadline for submitting applications for this first call for projects is set at 10 November. Applications submitted after this deadline will only be reviewed at the second selection committee.
Each selected company will be given access badges (the number determined according to the team structure, up to a maximum of 4 badges per company) to Morning’s nomad zones, along with an allowance of 10 credits (1h) of meeting-room time per month and per allocated badge.
