A series of talks devoted to impact in all its forms.
Discover those who are doing better, and follow their lead. That is the aim of Impact Week, hosted by Morning from 3 to 7 February. 5 highlights centred on impact in all its forms. Whether social, political or environmental, our various speakers all had one thing in common: devoting part of their professional or personal life to one of these causes. Here is a look back at these inspiring conversations.

Launch evening "Get involved"With Thierry Marx and We Demain Morning, République

Twice-Michelin-starred chef Thierry Marx opened the week. He looked back on his various charitable commitments. Once a young person "from the estates" and now the most high-profile French chef of the day, he devotes part of his work to helping young people find a "career path". He now heads several schools: Cuisine Mode d'Emploi(s), Boulangerie Mode d'Emploi(s) and Pass'Sport pour l'Emploi. These free training programmes aim to quickly train people who are far, or very far, from the job market, following a very clear code of conduct: RCR. The acronym stands for Rigour - Commitment - Regularity. A simple set of rules that seems to be bearing fruit.

Morning session "How do you become a company with a mission?"With B-Lab France, Citizen Capital, Imfusio, The Society Company Morning, Sentier

What impact can your organisation have? How can you act to grow it, showcase it and measure it? To tackle these questions, B Lab, the organisation behind the prestigious B Corp label, and the speakers ran workshops answering all the guests' questions, taking a first look at their respective situations and laying solid foundations for their future actions. This exchange between mentor companies and guests was followed by a presentation of the B Corp label and a Q&A session with impact investment fund Citizen Capital. Exactly the kind of conversation we love!

Morning session "A closer look at impact investing"With Lita.co, Makesense, Investir&+, Les Alchimistes and FEST. Morning, Richelieu
How do you fund impact projects? How do you measure impact financially? Which KPIs should you use to measure that impact? These were the questions that 3 impact investment funds, along with greentech start-up Les Alchimistes, answered during this session. The takeaway from the morning (spoiler alert): impact is both a risk and an opportunity — a risk in terms of conventional financial return, but an opportunity in terms of the resilience of the company, and therefore of the investment.

Evening "When the big players take action"With the Bouygues Group, ZEI, EpE and We DemainMorning, Sentier
We tend to think that only individuals or small organisations make an effort, through their own actions, to save our planet. Our guests — in particular Fabrice Bonnifet, CSR Director of the Bouygues Group — were there to prove that large groups and big multinationals also take action, in their own way. The "big players" came to tell us about their commitment and to discuss their transition towards a positive impact.
Un RV nécessaire & impactant pour les consciences 🙏 @morningcowork

Evening "Our members have got talent"With 6 of our membersMorning, Amsterdam

Six coworkers from the Morning community came to tell us about the impactful work they each carry out, whether during or outside their working hours. Among them: Wenabi, Fairness, Inspirience, Gojob, Pacte pour la Transition and ADN Kids. We dedicated an article to introducing the various speakers, which you can find here. Each of them came to explain their commitment and to "pitch" the company or charity they work for full-time or part-time. What followed were some lovely exchanges and a Q&A session to learn a little more about these unusual paths.

Evening "Circular economy: join the loop"With Brune Poirson, Greenbig and La CaserneMorning, Sentier

To mark the adoption of the anti-waste law, championed by the Secretary of State to the Minister for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition, Brune Poirson took part in a panel discussion held with Benoit Paget, founder of Greenbig. Maeva Bessis, managing director of the eco-responsible incubator La Caserne Paris, also joined the discussion on the question of a new opportunity to align economy and ecology.
