Meditation at work, with Bloom.

The benefits of meditation are scientifically proven, particularly when it comes to reducing stress. Unfortunately, the barriers of perception are many. There is always a Buddhist, religious side to it that can be off-putting. And not everyone is necessarily comfortable with the idea of meditating next to their boss.

What is more, a lot of people will want immediate results. This craving for the instant misses the point entirely. It takes roughly 8 weeks to embed a meditation routine and start feeling its effects. And yet the benefits are plentiful.

Meditation, for stepping back from your emotions

Meditation allows a better relationship with yourself, with others and with your environment.

☞ At the level of the individual

Meditation activates the parasympathetic system, which helps you regain your calm. Reduced stress, a better perspective on your emotions, improved sleep quality. Meditation also boosts the production of grey matter, which improves memory. 20 minutes of meditation are 3 to 4 times more restorative than 20 minutes of napping.

☞ At the level of the organisation

Organisations will logically reap the rewards. Listening and understanding between colleagues improve, and this better communication is followed by greater efficiency but also a boost to collective creativity. Lastly, by sharing a meditation experience, teams naturally grow closer.

The benefits of meditation in the workplace

Meditation at work offers three main advantages:

☞ It helps improve concentration and productivity while developing emotional intelligence.
☞ It encourages relaxation and lowers the cortisol levels linked to stress.
☞ By cultivating mindfulness, it contributes to the development of empathy, emotional regulation and more effective communication.

It is very important that employees reconnect with the present moment. It may sound abstract, but stress lodges itself in past regrets and future uncertainties. To dispel it, you have to reconnect with the present experience. Activating your parasympathetic nervous system does not take all that much effort.

Morning launches a partnership with the Bloom studio

To improve wellbeing at work, the Morning team has struck up a partnership with the Bloom meditation studio. Eugénie Lambert Buckstein, the founder, introduces us to her venture, one of whose studios sits right at the foot of the Morning Laffitte space.

The creation of Bloom is intimately bound up with the founder's own story. “I was a journalist for an American news channel, and I was sent on all sorts of quite difficult assignments, notably to places targeted by terrorist attacks. I wanted to be a war reporter, and these assignments fitted perfectly with my career choices”, Eugénie points out. “After several assignments, I realised that my work was taking a heavy physical toll on me. I first learnt to meditate through a meditation app, then in a studio. And that is how the idea for Bloom was born!”.

Alongside her work at Bloom, Eugénie is a meditation trainer for the UN. She spells out the benefits the practice brings: “Meditation has several benefits that have been scientifically proven”. She explains: “It reduces stress, regulates the emotions and activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which plunges the body into a state of calm.”

What you need to know about the Bloom studio

Bloom is the first modern meditation studio in France. “The studio is a place where people come to meditate together, rather than alone on an app. It is also about training courses and a dedicated e-shop!”

Occupants can attend classes to improve the way they manage stress!

The studio in a few points:

☞ A practice room, where participants can find classes in meditation, relaxation, sound meditation and hypnosis;
☞ A massage room, where occupants can enjoy relaxing massages and lymphatic drainage
☞ A small, welcoming shop area, to have a cup of tea and soak up a relaxed atmosphere.

Bloom now holds no more secrets for you. All that is left is to try a session at the studio located at the foot of Morning Laffitte. “It can change your life and the way you experience stress!” as Eugénie puts it!
