L’Oréal moves in at Morning! Christine Sonnier tells us the story

L’Oréal, the world leader in cosmetics, places particular importance on innovation. Constantly seeking new product development, the group’s teams have grown to accommodate various creation and research divisions. Since 2019, Morning has been home to the first teams of the Beauty Tech project at Morning, Clichy. A look back at this collaboration with Christine Sonnier, Property Director for French assets within the L’Oréal Group.

In what context did you come to Morning?

« In 2019, a new project was born, that of Beauty Tech, and it seemed important to us to move part of the teams to a neutral external location, but close to head office, to enable them to work together and collaboratively. Our role is to find places where employees feel good, and above all, feel at L’Oréal wherever they go.
Today, L’Oréal occupies 3 floors of Morning, Clichy. We set up the floors reserved for Beauty Tech there, along with a floor dedicated to finance projects. »

Spaces personalised in L’Oréal’s colours

What advantages do the Morning solutions offer?

« What we liked about Morning is this kind of flexibility.
The collaboration between L’Oréal and Morning worked well because we operated on a partnership basis. They were very agile; they were able to adapt the space within a few weeks, so that the project floors could open three months after signing the service contract.

One of the first advantages we noticed is the beauty of the premises, and also the investment in terms of furniture or CAPEX, which was very modest in view of the projects we were going to develop.
What’s more, the exchanges between Morning’s fit-out teams and L’Oréal’s project teams were very smooth. They understood our needs, so they could set up various installations for us, such as phone booths, meeting rooms, stand-up meeting areas and images taken from our adverts and our brands.

A final advantage is that of Group Security, which installed fibre on the premises. It’s feasible to have a dedicated connected fibre line, but also to have badge-based access control, so as to properly control who can enter our floors. »

What future for the workspace at L’Oréal?

« The property of tomorrow at L’Oréal will have to adapt to new ways of working. That means planning for more collaborative spaces, agile spaces to host project floors or to accommodate teams at a given moment. And coworking is one of the solutions that will make it possible to adapt to these new ways of working. »
